Dr. Tashni Dubroy is the newly appointed President of Shaw University, the oldest historically black university in the South.

Originally from Clarendon, Dr. Dubroy emigrated to the United States after attending Wolmers Girls and Holy Childhood High.

In addition to her career as an Academic, Dr. Dubroy is an entrepreneur, having co-founded the Tea and Honey Blends hair care company. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including: “Distinguished Alumni in Science Diversity,” awarded by North Carolina State University, and “21st century visionary, entrepreneurial leaders, who are the New Chemists on the Block, ” awarded by the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers. In 2011 she supervised faculty members and mentored undergraduate students as part of the Shaw in Jamaica international research project.
